About

Accion Chicago helps neighborhood entrepreneurs grow. We provide the coaching, capital, and connections small business owners need to create wealth and jobs throughout Illinois and Indiana. By partnering with entrepreneurs, Accion offers the most cost-effective way to invest in underserved communities. Where small businesses thrive, jobs are created, and investment into the community increases.

Accion offers small business loans between $500 and $100,000 at fair prices. We offer free coaching to every entrepreneur we meet, and we connect entrepreneurs to customers, suppliers and service providers as needed. Our business resource list is extensive and carefully curated, and the partners we work with are committed to your success, just as we are.

Accion is different than other lenders. As a nonprofit organization, all revenue we generate from the loans we provide is reinvested to help more entrepreneurs grow.

Accion is more than a lender. We build strong relationships with our clients, and we are invested in your growth and success. Our Community Lenders will work hard for you, and our community of specialized professionals offer a wide-range of resources to help you improve your business.

One in three entrepreneurs who apply for a loan, receive a loan. For those who aren’t yet ready for financing, you’ll receive a plan of action and work closely with our business coaches to ready you for financing in the future.

Accion will continue to support your growth over time through coaching and connections, even after you’ve repaid a loan. We exist to help your business grow. Our business coaches, quality service providers, and network of entrepreneurs are ready to assist you when you need it most.
