Small Business Saturday 2019 will be a big day for small businesses — and it’s quickly approaching. Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday in the U.S. that’s celebrating its 9th anniversary in 2019. American Express launched the holiday on Nov. 27, 2010, as an effort to increase sales for smaller businesses during a time of year when big box stores (Black Friday) and e-commerce (Cyber Monday) dominated. The day was unanimously supported by the U.S. Senate in 2011 and is now also known as the Shop Small® movement. #ShopSmall
 
Like American Express, ChiBizHub cares deeply about thriving communities and believes small businesses are at the core of every successful neighborhood. This is why, every year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving we encourage people to "shop small" with small businesses in their communities.
 
This month we are proud to recognize the efforts of Quad Communities Development Corporation, South East Chicago Commission and Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce. These organizations continue to fearlessly provide avenues for small businesses in their communities to thrive, including by supporting Small Business Saturday.
