Why Chicago? Can you expand on why Chicago is a great city to support small businesses?
Illinois is currently in the top states with small business and women-owned business growth. And, with Chicago being the largest economy in the state it is key for the state’s small business growth. There is tremendous opportunity to grow the revenue of minority and women-owned businesses who have traditionally been left out of mainstream business growth. Now is the time for those owners to take a larger percentage of the economy.
Why does your organization find it important to participate in Small Business Saturday?
Quad Communities Development Corporation’s Small Business Saturday activities are hosted under our "Shop Local, Shop Bronzeville" branding. November and December are important selling seasons for retail businesses because, on average 40 to 50 percent of annual sales occur during the holiday season. How many businesses currently participate in Small Business Saturday along with your agency?
